Join a Club or Find a Training Partner

Many people find it easier to stay committed and on track with their training if they are doing it with others. It makes training much more enjoyable and you will be there to support and encourage each other.

Find out where your local Tri Club trains and check it out. All tri clubs love new members and they will be able to help you out in terms of training, the best places to swim, ride and run, as well as local events. Tri clubs are very social, often enjoying a coffee or two after a ride or training session, so don’t feel shy about getting in touch.

There are several others that I train with and while we are sometimes accused of making it too ‘social’, it makes the training more fun and you don’t want to miss out. If you know someone is waiting for you, you will be less likely to skip a training session and let them (and yourself) down.
