Start Slowly

Whether you (like so many of us) haven’t really exercised in years or you have been running, riding or swimming and decided to try something a bit more challenging, there are some key things you need to remember. Start slowly, try to be consistent and gradually increase your time / distance in each sport.

Too often you hear about people who have decided to take up a new sport, try to cram a month’s training into a week and have problems. Either they have burned out already because it is too hard, their muscles are so sore they can hardly move, or worse, they have injured themselves. Triathlon (at any level) is about building up your endurance in the 3 sports safely, and that means slowly and consistently.
